On this square, we find the city’s great mosque and the kasbah that can be visited. The kasbah gardens are very pleasant. When you want to visit Chefchaouen, it’s a bit of a must!
To the northeast, on the edge of the medina, we find the Ras el Ma spring and we can see women washing their clothes in the old-fashioned way. Very quiet, soothing and with a nice little coffee, by the water!
Finally, each corner of the medina offers a magical view of the city’s alleys or the mountains surrounding the medina. Visiting Chefchaouen is also taking your time and immersing yourself in the lifestyle of the inhabitants of Chefchaouen, very different from the frantic pace of the major cities of Morocco! As with all the medinas in Morocco, visiting Chefchaouen is above all to get lost in the alleys of the city and to stroll around without a precise goal. Just open your eyes and wait for the meetings.
